FAQ
( Frequesntly Asked Questions )
Black Sails Adventures recognizes that not everyone is intoxicant friendly and our event offers you the opportunity to be intoxicant free. Our main event area called the Town of Nassau is an intoxication free zone and we offer camping within the town for those who’d prefer it. To choose a camping spot in the Town of Nassau simply navigate to our Camping Reservation System and pick a campsite that is located in the town area, it’s that easy!
*to access the Camping Reservation System you must have fully completed your registration.
Black Sails Adventures requires you to abide by our Consent Policy. Individuals found to be in violation of the policy will be warned, ejected, or banned depending on the severity and frequency of violations.
No always means no. Only yes means yes. (exception: CNC play)
Do NOT touch anyone without permission. This includes hugging, groping, back slapping, butt grabbing, nipple tweaking, etc. Just because someone has accepted an embrace or contact before from you in the past does not mean you have standing permission unless previously negotiated. Do NOT assume that if one kind of touch is consented to, that all touch is consented to.
Do not touch other people’s belongings without explicit permission.
Do not attempt to join a scene in progress. You must be explicitly invited before joining.
Do not interrupt a scene, if you have concerns about the activities of a scene, see the staff or Inquisitors and express your concerns to them.
I want to be clear up front, we are not professionals crises counselors nor professional victim advocates, we are event volunteers who care.
Broken Consent:
In most cases when someone breaks your consent we expect you to notify them immediately so the undesirable action can cease and a conversation can begin towards resolution. If you find yourself where you don’t want to confront the person due to the heinous nature of the unwanted action you don’t have to and we welcome you to let us be there to help. If the issue is outside our care capability we work with our professional allies within our community to help provide the best options we can bring to our attendees.

“Taken from the text of our Community Experience doc. This document will outline all the rules to our event and at this time is currently not published as it’s a work in progress. We estimate a public release being in March.”
We need to start off by setting some realistic expectations. First we CAN NOT stop everyone who wishes to be intoxicated and play, and for that matter no one can. So an expectation that intoxication and play will NEVER happen is out.
Q: So what expectations can we have?
A: You can expect the event to hold a high standard for sobriety in the city of Nassau.
Q: How do we enact this?
A: By making clear zones where intoxication is permitted (Nassau Beach) and where it is not (Nassau City).
Q: What if someone is intoxicated in Nassau City?
A: We will at minimum remand them to the beach and at maximum eject them from the event, each case is dealt with individually.
Q: How can you tell if someone is intoxicated?
A: Based on our Inquisitors best judgement that the person in question is visibly intoxicated. Few police officers are qualified to legally tell if someone is intoxicated and what they are intoxicated by without lab test and specialized equipment. Fortunately we don’t need to hold to legal standards. If you come to our event you have consented to following the rules of the event and the decisions made by Black Sails Adventures staff members.
- We encourage our community Captains, First mates, & Quartermasters to know when your crew is intoxicated and be willing to help remind them that they are intoxicated. If they don’t heed your warnings, report them to us.
- Form a buddy system, you can be your buddies advocate to help remind them they are intoxicated. If they don’t heed your warnings, report them to us.
- Don’t be afraid to confide in staff, your reports are confidential.
Reminder: That many if not the majority of all kink events are held in bars where drinking is permitted. Bars have long been a companion of the kink lifestyle. It’s up to each of us to be responsible when we choose to drink.
We hope this answers many of the questions you might have about rum filled pirates and kink. If you find yourself still pondering a question feel free to ask the Inquisitors they room the halls of our Facebook group or you can PM them here
The short answer is yes we do we just call them Inquisitors!
We have event staff members called The Inquisitors who monitor the event including the dungeons for event policy violations as well as mundanian law violations. One of the goals of this event is to meld both the pirate community and the kinky community into one. Having either DM’s or Constables or both did not seem to meet our objective of blending. So we created our own entity called The Inquisitors who will be made up of DM’s and Constables and take on all the responsibilities of both and more to meet our unique events needs. We know by in large both communities are self policing and are quick to report when rules and laws are broke. We encourage and reward those who report illicit activities to our Inquisitors, as a healthy community it is in all our best interest to play by the same rules.
One might ask, what’s a Majordomo?
Good question… my friends over at Merriam – Webster define it as:
ma·jor·do·mo | \ ˌmā-jər-ˈdō-(ˌ)mō \plural majordomos
3: a person who speaks, makes arrangements, or takes charge for another broadly : the person who runs an enterprise
As we all share in this community together and seeing the rules apply to us all equally, we developed a guide called The Community Experience. This guide will help ensure we are all sharing the same communal vision during your time on Nassau.
The short answer is NO!
As many of the staff have been in both communities for a various lengths of time so, we understand and apologize for any confusion. Black Sails Adventures is it’s own event without any ties to any other event at this time.

- To have bawdy fun set in a period of romantic piracy.
- To enjoy immersion in period garb (1700’s)
- An abundance of kinky pirate shenanigan’s
- One of the goals of this event is to allow it’s attendees to come out of their politically correct mundanian shells, dawn garb (period clothing) aka dress up and be that swashbuckler, that lady in waiting, that privateer that you find in great adventure tales.
- It is a chance to be a bit more forward, a bit more unconstrained, a bit more free to express a period version of themselves and be accepted for who they are while at the event.
